Arrange travel insurance before departure, then compare written prepaga (private health plan) quotes. National hospitals require insurance or advance payment from many non-permanent foreign residents for routine care.
- Medicare when you leave Australia for ArgentinaMedicare does not cover treatment while you are in Argentina. Argentina is not among Australia's reciprocal healthcare agreement countries, so arrange medical and evacuation cover before you leave.
Flights, shipping and pets

Returning a dog from Argentina to Australia is a separate DAFF Group 3 import with an approval sequence that takes at least six months.
