Which Buenos Aires hospitals can I contact?

These are three established private hospitals with published Buenos Aires addresses, not a ranking or a promise that any department will speak English. A hospital's main address may differ from its emergency entrance. Give a taxi or ambulance the entrance confirmed by the hospital, not simply the address of its main campus.

If you need an English-speaking clinician, ask the hospital or insurer for a named doctor and appointment before travelling: ¿Hay atención en inglés? means “Is care available in English?” A name that sounds British, German or Italian does not establish the language of the doctor on shift. Bring your passport or DNI (Argentine national identity card), insurance details, current medicines and relevant medical records to registration. What can foreigners use at a public hospital after 2025?

Argentina's 2025 migration-law amendment protects emergency access regardless of nationality or immigration status. Since August 2026, facilities administered by the national government apply a further rule to routine care: foreigners without permanent residence must have valid health insurance or pay in advance. A foreign permanent resident can access the public system on the same basis as an Argentine citizen. Temporary residence does not meet the permanent-residence condition for nationally administered facilities.

The national procedure came from Resolution 1066/2026, published on 11 August 2026. The treating clinician determines whether care is an emergency. Emergency care must not be delayed for administrative payment checks, but subsequent care can generate a bill; when an insured patient is treated, the national facility can bill the insurer. It would be unsafe to read “emergency access” as “every later service is free”.

CABA and provincial hospitals have their own administration; the national-facility payment procedure is not proof of a single uniform charge at every Argentine public hospital. If you plan non-urgent public care, ask the particular facility what identity and cover it requires before scheduling. That distinction matters especially if you have a tourist entry or temporary residence rather than permanent residence.

Who do I call in an emergency?

Give the operator the street address, nearby cross street if you know it, a callback number and a brief description of what happened.
